Russian Deputy Prime Minister and President Plenipotentiary in the Far East Federal Region Trutnev expressed the hope that China would consider accelerating cooperation within the framework of the Russia China New Grain Land Corridor Project.
On November 17, the Intergovernmental Cooperation Committee of the Russian Far East and Baikal Region and Northeast China held its fourth meeting. The video conference was co chaired by Russian Deputy Prime Minister Trutnev and Chinese Vice Premier Hu Chunhua.
The agenda of this meeting includes the issue of expanding agricultural cooperation. Trutnev pointed out that Russia is willing to continue to expand its agricultural exports to China, so it pays special attention to the Russia China New Grain Land Corridor Project.
Trutnev said: "The key element of this project is to launch the Outer Baikalsk Grain Terminal with an annual throughput of up to 8 million tons to store and transfer some grain crops exported to China. This will significantly improve the speed of goods passing. On the Russian side, the grain transfer terminal has been completed and will be put into use during the 2021 Oriental Economic Forum. It is hoped that China will consider accelerating relevant work."
